Established in 1981 with donations from benevolent citizens and organizations from Kayseri, ASPİLSAN Enerji has been working for 42 years to provide solutions that will reduce our country's dependence on foreign energy systems.
ASPİLSAN Enerji, which established Türkiye's first lithium-ion cell battery production facility and started mass production in June 2022, celebrates its 42nd anniversary. Ferhat Özsoy, General Manager of ASPİLSAN Enerji, made the following statement regarding the 42nd anniversary of the company: "For 42 years, we have been aiming to offer solutions that will reduce the foreign dependency of our country in the field of energy systems. The most crucial focus of ASPİLSAN Enerji between 2021-2022 was our lithium-ion cell battery production facility investment, which we started and continued with the support of the Turkish Armed Forces Foundation (TSKGV). As ASPİLSAN Enerji, we have come a long way in making cell battery production domestic and national. Realising this investment in a short time was possible with serious effort. As a result, the cell batteries produced in our facility locally and nationally meet the needs of the defence industry and the private sector. In addition, studies are continuing to develop battery cells of different types, sizes and technologies in the future. The cell batteries produced by ASPİLSAN Enerji can be used in radios, jammers, robotic systems, weapon systems, power tools, medical devices, hybrid vehicles (HEV), smart textile batteries, e-bikes, e-scooters, forklifts, UPS systems (mini EDS) and energy storage systems.
While ASPİLSAN Enerji has responded to the energy needs of the defence industry for 42 years, it has also turned to different sectors with innovative solutions in recent years. Thus, it significantly expanded its portfolio with new products.
According to the "R&D 250" survey, ASPİLSAN Energy became the 33rd company in our country with the highest number of projects in the "Top 100 According to the Number of Projects Conducted in R&D Centers" category in 2021. As a company, we follow innovative solutions and advanced technologies in our sector in our four separate R&D centres in Kayseri, Ankara, Istanbul and Edirne.
Our Goal is to Make Our Country the Cell Battery Production Center of the Region
Our Turkish engineers continue researching and developing using domestic and national facilities to strengthen our country's industry. We will continue with firm steps in this direction and stay within the determined strategies.
As a result of these studies, which are the core of its future investments, ASPİLSAN Enerji is realizing an essential phase for the Türkiye of tomorrow and taking the first steps for Türkiye to take its place at the forefront of the e-mobility era.
ASPİLSAN Enerji Turned The Route To The European Market
We have been working to become a critical battery exporter by 2023. In particular, we focused our efforts on exporting to Europe. We consider that being the first manufacturer in the region of our cell batteries holding international standards and the supply problems from the Far East will help us enter this market.
We are confident that we will soon participate in foreign markets with our products outside the defence industry, especially with our e-mobility and telecommunication batteries.
While we have managed to prevent foreign dependency to a large extent with our lithium-ion cell battery production facility that we brought to our country in 2022, we are working to become a vital battery exporter in 2023, that is, in our 42nd year.”
