ASPİLSAN ENERJİ RANKS 33 IN NUMBER OF R&D PROJECTS
ASPİLSAN Enerji became the 33rd company that carries out the most projects in 2021 according to the number of R&D projects of our country

The "R&D 250" research indicates that ASPİLSAN Enerji ranked 33rd in our nation for the number of projects it completed in the "Top 100 According to the Number of Projects Conducted in the R&D Centre" category in 2021.

While ASPİLSAN Enerji has been serving the energy requirements of the defence industry for 41 years, it has greatly increased the number of new products in its portfolio by focusing on other industries in recent years with its creative and forward-thinking solutions.

In a statement addressing the significance ASPİLSAN Enerji places on R&D efforts to lessen our nation's reliance on foreign energy sources, Ferhat Özsoy, General Manager of ASPİLSAN Enerji, said: became ASPİLSAN Enerji's most critical problem in terms of transformation and growth in 2021. We, ASPİLSAN Enerji, have made significant progress in the local and international production of batteries.

In our four R&D facilities, which are situated in Kayseri, Ankara, Istanbul, and Edirne, we, as ASPİLSAN Enerji, closely monitor cutting-edge technology and new solutions in our industry. We have made substantial advancements in our R&D facilities with high-tech battery design projects for ASELSAN, TAI, and Roketsan goods. The construction of our nation's vital military systems at home and abroad will be significantly aided by these batteries.

We have finished setting up an infrastructure at our Ankara R&D Centre that can create and design batteries and will assist raw material suppliers. We serve all of our stakeholders about all types of tests, small or large, for battery production and development in this R&D facility, which will serve as a base for our nation's battery research. Similar to this, we are working together on battery development research thanks to a contract we signed with the TUBITAK Rail Transport Technologies Institute (RUTE).

We accomplished a significant milestone in our Istanbul R&D Centre by unveiling the initial hydrogen and fuel cell study prototypes in 2021. We demonstrated our fuel cell and electrolyser prototypes to the general public. After the Paris Convention was ratified, the significance of these works became even more clear. Our efforts on this topic will pick up steam over the ensuing period. We added more products to the civil sectors.

Our Product Portfolio Expanded Within Civil Sectors

We have entered a significant market by localising different rail system batteries, when we consider diverse markets and new products. We obtained the outcomes of our efforts in the rail system battery area and gave our first domestic Rail System batteries to our enterprises and manufacturers concurrently with the investments made in our nation's metro and train systems.

Additionally, we began offering our first goods for several naval systems. Additionally, by agreeing to work with Arçelik to develop batteries for home appliances, we have entered a new market. With our telecom batteries and e-mobility batteries, we have once again formed significant partnerships in two distinct industries. Due to our completion of the European Aviation Safety Agency (EASA) certification in 2021, we also entered the civil aviation sector. In this regard, we can state that ASPİLSAN Enerji's research and development initiatives had a successful year in 2021.

We will continue to explore and develop with solid steps, staying true to our strategy, with the goal of boosting our nation's industry via the efforts of Turkish engineers using domestic and national resources.
