ASPİLSAN Enerji and XGEN,
The "Green Hydrogen Generation Energized with Innovative Small Scale Wind Turbine" Project will be carried out as part of the Green and Blue Transformation Program, with assistance from the zmir development agency.

The Green and Blue Transformation Program application submitted in collaboration with ASPİLSAN Enerji and XGEN Energy and requested by the zmir Development Agency was approved.

The project, in which clean hydrogen will be obtained with domestic solutions, will last for 18 months.

At TEKNOFEST, the largest aviation, space, and technology festival in the world organised with the cooperation of institutions and organisations that play a crucial role in the development of national technology in our country, ASPİLSAN Enerji is meeting with young people with its new generation products. This event aims to realise the National Technology Move of our country.

At TEKNOFEST, which aims to enhance the human resources educated in science and engineering in Türkiye and create awareness about technology and science in all of society, ASPİLSAN Enerji is ready for all young people who wish to pioneer the technologies of the future.

There is a very significant increase in energy demand as a result of population growth, technical advancements, and growing living standards, which leads to an increase in energy production capacities. Every move that will help the energy industry decarbonize is extremely useful and necessary, given that the energy sector is responsible for around 75% of all CO2 emissions worldwide.

Ferhat Özsoy, general manager of ASPİLSAN Enerji, made the following remarks regarding the project that will enable the development of hydrogen using national technologies: "Providing the produced hydrogen from an electrolyzer fed with renewable energy sources based on domestic and national technologies is very important for the transition to the concept of green hydrogen. Through the use of an electrolyzer powered by a vertical axis wind turbine powered by national technologies and built with national engineering, this project will make it possible to produce hydrogen, one of the strategic energy carriers of the future.

In this project, which is seen as a strategic step in the transition to high-capacity products to be developed as the pioneer of future projects, the 2 kW domestic PEM electrolyzer to be developed by ASPİLSAN Enerji and the domestic vertical axis wind turbine to be developed by XGEN Energy will be installed on a campus land in Izmir and will be located here at high capacity. pure (99.999%) green hydrogen will be obtained.

We Will Obtain Clean Hydrogen with Innovative Focused Domestic Solutions

The project, which we will obtain clean hydrogen from renewable energy sources, which are in an extremely important position in clean energy transformation, with domestic solutions and the support of İzmir Development Agency, will last for 18 months.

One of the most crucial parts of the generation of green hydrogen, the electrolyzer, which is in higher demand both domestically and internationally, is what ASPİLSAN Enerji seeks to manufacture. A 2 kW level module, which has not yet been produced commercially in our nation, will be made as part of this project. For the hydrogen produced to be categorised as "green" hydrogen, renewable energy sources must be used as the electrolyzer's energy input. The domestic vertical axis wind turbine (WIND-ER) system, created by XGEN Energy and backed by solar panels, will be connected with the electrolyzer system in order to do this. Thanks to the quiet operation of WIND-ER wind turbines and their ability to be used in the city, it will be an innovative approach that will expand the use of electrolyzer systems integrated with renewable energy sources in the city.

The project will move forward with organized R&D project steps that correspond to initial research, design development, prototype manufacture and testing operations, and final upgrades. In addition to ensuring the efficient use of the nation's renewable resources, the project's output product or products will also support domestic research and development of strategically significant technologies for the creation of competitive goods and services in the green hydrogen market, which is rapidly growing in the global energy market. We would like to express our gratitude to the Izmir Development Agency for their project support in this regard.

These are all crucial steps in achieving our 2053 decarbonization goals under the Paris Climate Agreement, which our nation also recently ratified.
