Domestic Lithium Battery Collaboration from Türk Telekom and ASPİLSAN Enerji

Türk Telekom and ASPİLSAN Enerji collaborated on the development and commercial usage of local lithium batteries, with the goal of generating domestic and national technology solutions. The lithium battery, which was developed by ASPİLSAN Enerji with the help of engineers from Türk Telekom, was first tested on the live network of Türk Telekom and is now being utilized commercially.

Türk Telekom, Turkey's largest provider of information and communication technology, continues to promote programs aimed at increasing the proportion of domestic and national output in communication technologies. In this regard, Türk Telekom worked with ASPİLSAN Enerji, which is preparing to open Turkey's first and only cylindrical lithium-ion battery manufacturing facility, as well as the first in Europe, in battery design and manufacturing. The lithium battery, which was developed by ASPİLSAN Enerji with the help of engineers from Türk Telekom, was tested for the first time on the live network of Türk Telekom and then made commercially available.

“We break new ground in high-tech products and support domestic production”

Yusuf Kıraç, Assistant General Manager of Technology at Türk Telekom stated these:"As Türk Telekom, we continue to encourage domestic production by breaking new ground in high-tech products. On the productization of lithium batteries for the telecommunications sector, we collaborated with ASPİLSAN Enerji. With the help of Türk Telekom, we began installing and testing lithium batteries developed by ASPİLSAN Enerji. The project: We are pleased to announce that we have completed the design, development, and field tests with ASPİLSAN Enerji and are now going to the commercial use stage. We used to import identical items from ASPİLSAN, which was the first domestic lithium battery to be deployed commercially in the live network of Türk Telekom. We feel that these goods, which are created and manufactured specifically for the telecommunications industry, are of high quality , will make a significant contribution to the national economy.”

Ferhat Özsoy, General Manager of ASPİLSANadded these: "The battery sector encompasses a wide range of technologies, from communication technology to robotic systems to electric vehicles. We built the first home battery specifically for the telecommunications sector as a consequence of our collaboration with Türk Telekom. With the batteries we created specifically for communication technologies, we are happy to be able to prevent imports and lessen our reliance on foreign sources. As ASPİLSAN Enerji, we see this collaboration with Türk Telekom as the first of many fruitful collaborations to come. This partnership, which will contribute significantly to the country's economy, will expand with the development of new batteries for a variety of applications in many industries."
