ASPİLSAN Enerji, which was established with donations made by philanthropic citizens and organisations from Kayseri to meet the battery Cell and battery needs of the Turkish Armed Forces, has been producing solutions that will reduce our country's foreign dependence in the field of energy storage for 43 years.
ASPİLSAN Enerji manufactures a wide range of products from lithium-ion rechargeable cylindrical battery cells to Ni-Cd batteries, from radio batteries to aviation and helicopter batteries.
ASPİLSAN Enerji is Türkiye's first and still the only company producing Nickel Cadmium (Ni-Cd) aircraft batteries. Following the activities that started in the early 1990s within the scope of the CN-235 Casa Transport Aircraft Project and continued with the indigenisation of the batteries of the air platforms in the inventory of the Turkish Armed Forces, ASPİLSAN Enerji has specialised in the aviation batteries sector by following intensive R&D and technology development activities. In this context, ASPİLSAN Enerji batteries, installed in C-130 aircraft in 1999, defy the years with their quality.
Providing information about ASPİLSAN Enerji's expertise in aviation batteries, Ahmet Turan Özdemir who is the General Manager of ASPİLSAN Enerji, said the following "Within the scope of the renewal works carried out with domestic and national facilities in 1999 on C-130 aircraft in Kayseri, the batteries of C-130 aircraft were updated with ASPİLSAN Enerji batteries. Within the scope of these renewal works, which is an important step in reducing foreign dependency, the same batteries have been performing their duties for 25 years, just like the first day.
Thanks to its recent development activities, ASPİLSAN Enerji has become an aviation battery centre of excellence, capable of designing and producing batteries for more than 40 different types of aircraft, helicopters and UAVs/SUAVs, and meeting the needs of various institutions, especially the Turkish Armed Forces. We can say that ASPİLSAN Enerji has a different and special position in the sector as a result of serious R&D studies carried out with high safety sensitivities in the aviation sector and years of knowledge.
Especially with the rapid growth momentum achieved in the last five years and the acquisition of international certificates such as EASA and AS 9100, the Company has started to design and manufacture aircraft and helicopter batteries for the civil aviation market, particularly for Turkish Airlines. In addition, ASPİLSAN Enerji designs and develops the battery systems for the projects carried out by TAI for all aircraft developed in Türkiye, including KAAN (HÜRJET and HÜRKUŞ aircraft, Gökbey and ATAK-II helicopters, ANKA and AKSUNGUR UAVs).
ASPİLSAN Enerji is a strategic organisation that can design and produce advanced aviation batteries not only in Türkiye but also worldwide with the battery power packs it develops and produces. ASPİLSAN Enerji, which has an EASA Part 21 certificate, which is the equivalent of FAA, is distinguished from many global aviation companies with its quality systematic and flawless presentation of products to stakeholders."
